Card Processing and Fees

Petsoft integrates with a credit card processor, so your staff can take payments without switching to a separate machine or typing totals into a card reader. This page explains how card processing works in Petsoft, what it costs, and how to get started.

Card processing overview

• Trusted partners. Petsoft partners with Cosairus Payment Services (CPS) (cosairuspay.com). CPS processes your payments with Elavon, a U.S. Bank company.
• Built into your daily workflow. Payments are part of the reservation and checkout process. Customers can pay a Reservation Deposit when they reserve, and staff can take payment at checkout from the invoice. Petsoft sends the exact total to the terminal. See Invoices & POS.
• Customer service fees and tips. Your card terminal can add an optional service fee to your customer's card payment. Petsoft Support can also turn on a tip prompt, so customers can add a tip before they pay. See Tip Adjustments.
• Online and in-person payments. A virtual terminal handles online payments and cards on file. Physical card terminals take in-person payments by chip or tap.
• Major card brands. Accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express.

Pricing and fees

You always pay the $25 monthly service fee. Your processing fees are added on top of it, but if your processing fees for the month are less than $25, you pay the $25 monthly minimum instead. This means your lowest possible monthly cost is $50, not counting terminal rental.

Businesses with more than $250,000 in annual revenue can ask about special pricing plans.

Setup

1. Export your facilities and apply. In Petsoft, go to Payment Gateway Integration and export your facility details to Cosairus Payment Services. Then complete the boarding application on the CPS website. For step-by-step instructions, see Cosairus Payment Services Integration.
2. Get approved. After CPS and Elavon approve your application, Petsoft connects your new merchant account to Petsoft for online payment processing. Your card terminals typically ship within 1 to 2 business days.
3. Set up your terminals. Each card terminal connects to a Windows computer. We recommend Windows 11. Windows 10 still works, but Microsoft ended support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025, so it no longer receives security updates. For security and best practice, use Windows 11. You need administrator privileges on that computer to install the terminal software. See the Ingenico Lane 5000 Installation Guide.
