Hours of operation
Your hours control the check-in and check-out time pickers. Staff and pet parents see these pickers in the office portal, the pet parent portal, and the mobile app. Petsoft offers check-in and check-out times in 15-minute steps between your open and close times. If a day has no hours, Petsoft treats it as closed.
Go to Services > Hours of Operation. You set hours for each facility. If your business has more than one location, set hours once for each location.
You need the Manage Hours of Operation permission to use this page. There is no read-only view. Staff without this permission can not see the page.
Set your weekly hours
The page shows a grid of your recurring hours, Sunday through Saturday. Each entry is one time range for one day. A day can have more than one entry. For example, you can set a morning range and an evening range if you close at midday.
- Click New Hours.
- Select the Day of Week, a Start Time, and an End Time. The end time must be after the start time. Ranges on the same day can not overlap.
- Click Save.
Click the pencil icon to edit an entry. You can not change the day of an existing entry. To move a range to another day, delete it and create a new one.
Weekly hours are shown above. Overrides are shown below: one date has special hours, and one date is marked Closed. The page title includes the facility name because hours are set for each location.
Editing weekly hours moves existing reservations. When you save a change, Petsoft checks upcoming reservations. If a check-in or check-out time now falls outside your new hours, Petsoft moves that time inside the new hours automatically. Petsoft also sends an email to the affected pet parent about the new time.
Consider this before you shorten your hours. If you shorten your Saturday hours, Petsoft will email your Saturday customers about the change.
Add a date override
Overrides are for single exceptions, such as a holiday closure, a late opening, or an early closing. An override replaces the weekly hours for its date completely.
- Under Hours of Operation Overrides, click New Override.
- Select the Override Date (today or a later date). Then do one of the following:
- Set a Start Time and End Time for special hours on that date, or
- Select the Closed checkbox to close the facility for that date.
- Click Save.
The overrides table lists Date, Day of Week, Time, and Closed. It shows only today's date and future dates. Petsoft keeps past overrides but does not show them.
A date can not be both Closed and have special hours. To switch between Closed and special hours on a date, click the pencil icon and edit the existing entry.
Overrides do not move existing reservations — unlike weekly-hours edits. Petsoft does not send emails, and it does not change any reservation times. If you close a date that already has bookings, check that day's reservations yourself.
