Runs & rate levels

A rate level is a pricing tier for your runs — Regular at level 1, VIP at level 2, where the level number climbs with the upgrade. A run is one kennel space, physical or virtual, assigned to exactly one rate level and linked to the services it can host.

When a pet parent books online, they choose between your rate levels, and Petsoft allocates an actual run from that tier.

A rate level holds no price. It's a label that runs belong to. The money is set on Service Rates, priced per rate level and per pet count.

Set things up in this order: rate levels → runs → service rates. Both pages live under Services in the left navigation, on the Rate Levels and Runs tabs.

Create a rate level

Go to Services > Rate Levels and click the + (Add New Rate Level).

Field	What to enter
Rate Level Name	"Regular", "VIP Suite" — whatever you call it. Must be unique.
Level	The tier number. Greater than 0, unique, and higher should mean pricier.
Rate Level Description	Free text.
Minimum / Maximum Weight	Optional. Scopes the tier to a weight range, e.g. only pets up to 30 lbs.
Upload Image	"A picture that will be displayed next to the run rate in the pet parent portal."

tip

If a tier isn't weight-restricted, leave the weight boxes empty rather than typing a big number. Empty means "no limit".

The list shows a Run Count per level, and a level can only be deleted while that count is 0 — reassign its runs first. Petsoft warns you: "Are you sure you want to delete this kennel rate level? All runs associated with it will be deactivated."

Add a run

Go to Services > Runs and click the + (Add New Kennel Run). At least one rate level must exist first.

Field	What to enter
Run Name	Must be unique among active runs.
Rate Level	The one tier this run belongs to. Options show the weight range, like Regular (0-30 lbs).
Length, Width, Height	Dimensions in feet.
Active, Covered Run, Virtual Run	See below for Virtual.
Services	Tick each service this run can host. Tick Automatically Assign to let Petsoft place reservations for that service here.

The runs list — each run belongs to one rate level and lists the services it can host. Bulk Insert lives in the Kennel Run Options box above the filters.

A run belongs to exactly one rate level — it's the services you pick several of, not the tiers. Timeslot-scheduled services don't appear in the Services list, because they're scheduled against employee schedules rather than runs.

Two rules to know:

• Your plan caps active runs. At the maximum, the add form is replaced by a notice and an Upgrade Now button.
• Virtual runs only auto-assign trial services. A virtual run has no physical space and is counted separately in reports. Marking one asks you to confirm: "Marking this run as Virtual will disable automatic assignments for non-Trial services. Continue?"

Bulk insert a bank of runs

For a row of similar kennels, use Bulk Insert New Kennel Runs, in the Kennel Run Options box on the Runs tab.

1. Set a Run Prefix (default RUN), optionally add a space between the prefix and the number, a Start Run Index, and the Number of runs (1–256). A live Name preview shows the result, e.g. RUN 4.
2. Pick the shared Rate Level, dimensions, options, and services — every run in the batch gets the same setup.
3. Click Save.

Names are always prefix + number, so "Luxury Suite 1" through "Luxury Suite 5" works nicely; anything non-numeric like "Slot A" you'll add by hand.

The batch refuses to overlap existing run names, and respects the same plan cap — it'll tell you how many more runs you have room for.
