Medications & Diet Tracking

Ensuring pets receive the correct medication and food is critical. Petsoft allows staff to record specific feeding instructions and medication schedules directly onto a pet's reservation.

Adding Instructions to a Stay

Staff can attach instructions when creating a new reservation, or add them later if the customer brings medication at drop-off.

  1. Go to Reservations.
  2. Find the upcoming or active stay and click Edit.
  3. Scroll to the Diet & Feeding section to enter the pet's specific food requirements (e.g., "1 cup dry kibble AM/PM").
  4. Scroll to the Medications section to record prescriptions.
  5. Click Add Medication.
  6. Enter the medication name, dosage, and frequency (e.g., "Insulin, 2 units, twice daily with food").
  7. Click Save Changes.

Daily Care Reports

Once instructions are attached to the stay, they automatically flow into your daily reporting tools.

  • Kennel Cards: When you print a Kennel Card for the run, the feeding and medication instructions are printed clearly at the top.
  • Medications Report: Run the Daily Medications Report from the Reports dashboard every morning to generate a checklist of every pet requiring medication that day.
important

Always double-check the Daily Medications Report against the physical medication brought by the owner during drop-off to ensure accuracy.
