Time Tracking & Attendance

Petsoft includes an integrated time clock system. Employees can clock in and out directly from their dashboard, and managers can review, edit, and export these time records for payroll.

Clocking In and Out

Employees use their standard login credentials to record time entries.

  1. Navigate to the Dashboard.
  2. Click the Clock In button in the top navigation bar.
  3. Select the applicable Shift Type or role (e.g., Kennel Attendant, Groomer, Front Desk).
  4. Click Submit. The system records the start time and the assigned role.
  5. To clock out, return to the Dashboard and click Clock Out.
note

If an employee forgets to clock out, their shift remains open. Managers will need to manually close the time entry from the Time & Attendance page.

Reviewing Time Cards

Managers with the appropriate security permissions can view and modify all staff time entries.

  1. Go to Employees > Time & Attendance.
  2. Set the date range for the current payroll period.
  3. The report displays each employee, their shifts, total regular hours, and calculated overtime.

Editing a Time Entry

Mistakes happen. Managers can correct punch times or manually add missing shifts.

  1. Locate the employee's time entry on the Time & Attendance page.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Adjust the Start Time or End Time.
  4. Add a note explaining the change in the Correction Reason field.
  5. Click Save Changes.

Exporting for Payroll

Once all time cards are verified for the pay period, export the data to send to your payroll processor.

  1. Go to Employees > Time & Attendance.
  2. Verify the date range is correct.
  3. Click Export.
  4. Choose your preferred format (PDF or Excel).
