Getting started with the Parent Portal

The Parent Portal lets you book stays for your pets, manage their information, and see what you have spent. It works on phones, tablets, and computers.

info

This section is for pet parents. If you are facility staff and want to review or approve requests, see Online Booking & Requests.

What you can do here

  • Book stays — request daycare, boarding, or grooming, any time of day.
  • Manage your pets — add pets, update their details, and upload vaccination records.
  • Pay deposits — when a reservation needs a deposit, you pay it when you book.
  • See your history — past invoices, payments, and your coupon balance.
  • Keep your info current — contacts, notification preferences, and your stored payment card.

Create your account

Your facility gives you a signup link or an invite code.

  1. On the registration page, find the Facility Invite Code field. If your facility does not already appear, type your Invite Code (for example, ABCD2345) and click Apply Code. If you do not have a code, contact your facility to request an invite.
  2. Under Account, enter your email address and choose a password. A checkmark appears when your password meets the rules.
  3. Complete your Contact Details: name, address, and telephone number.
  4. Under Location Preference, select your preferred location. After you register, you can book at any of the organization's locations.
  5. You may tell the facility how you heard about it, then click Finish Setup.

The Parent Portal registration page The registration page. The facility is already applied from the signup link, and the green checkmarks confirm the password meets the rules.

Verify your email

You will receive a verification email. Petsoft states the time window exactly: "You have twenty-four (24) hours to verify the email address before the link expires."

The email verification message The verification email has one button. Click it to confirm your address.

When you verify your email, the system signs you out of any open session. Log in again after you verify. If you never set a password, the link takes you to a page to set one first. This can happen when staff created your account for you.

tip

You may already have a Petsoft account from another facility. When you register with a new organization, the system adds it to your existing account. Log in with the email address and password you already have.

First login

The portal asks you to accept the Terms of Service first. You must accept it before you continue — see Reviewing & Signing Agreements.

After that, your pets go to the facility for review. Until the facility approves them, the Reservations page lists what is outstanding, usually vaccination paperwork. After staff approve your pets, you can make a reservation. If your facility requires a trial visit, complete it first. See Make a reservation.

Go to Settings, then Security, then Manage, and protect your account with an authenticator app — Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, or similar.

The two-factor authentication setup screen Setup is two steps on one screen: scan the QR code, then confirm with the code your app generates.

  1. Step 1: Scan the QR code with your app, or type the manual key.
  2. Step 2: Enter the verification code from the app and click Enable Two-Factor Authentication.
  3. Save your recovery codes. Petsoft gives this warning: "Save these codes now. They will not be shown again."

The recovery codes screen Save the recovery codes now. Copy or print them before you click Continue.

After that, when you log in, the portal asks for your 6-digit code. If you lose your telephone, click Use a recovery code instead on the verification screen. Each code signs you in one time.

Your settings

The Settings page covers the rest of your account:

This page also has a Request Account Deletion option, if you want the facility to delete your data. You will get a confirmation email first. That confirmation link expires after 24 hours.

Contacts, activity, and reaching your facility

  • Contacts — add emergency contacts and authorized pickup people: name, type, email, and telephone numbers.
  • Account Activity — your financial history. See Your cards & account activity.
  • Contact Facility — every location's email, mapped address, and telephone number in one place.

The Contacts page Emergency contacts and authorized users. You can edit or remove each row. Email and telephone number are a click away.

The Contact Facility page Contact Facility lists every location's email, mapped address, and telephone number.

Account security

Yes. You see only your own pets, reservations, and bills. Your facility never sees your full card number; it sees only a token from the payment processor. You can also add two-factor authentication, described above, for extra account security.
